BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP

Beautiful Friendship, a lovely Stampin' Up! stamp set, (page 115) has a decidedly feminine vibe to it. The plethora of flowers, as well as the sentiments, lend it that feeling of femininity. I imagine that a card could have more of a masculine feel if other colors were used, but I haven't tried it.

Do you remember when I presented my handmade gift wrap in this post? I used most of the flower stamps from the Beautiful Friendship set to create these three pieces of gift wrap, a sample of which is shown below.

Now, some months later, thoughts of that gift wrap came back into my mind, and I decided to create a card using the exact same colors and stamps.

This card, barely taking any time at all, was easily finished by adding a sentiment piece, also from the set. To coordinate it with the background, I used some of the same colors and one of the sentiments from Beautiful Friendship.

To cut out the sentiment, I used a die from a very old die set, Timeless Tags. It was a good choice because I love the perfect oval shape, and it had a hole in one end into which I could tie a ribbon bow.

After stamping and die cutting the oval, it was completed once I added some of the matching leaves all around the edge. The label was then added to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I used a card base of Petal Pink cardstock.

The ink colors I used to stamp this card include: Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Mint Macaron and Petal Pink.

Yes, you need a lot of inks. But, don't you love the way these colors work so well together?

I think I might just get out that stamp set again and try my hand on a more masculine-looking card. Do you think it will work?

Flower-y
Smiles.
